About this Product
A unique handmade ring box made from black walnut. Delicate but sturdy, this darling wooden box is a lovely way to present your wedding rings on your big day or to set your rings aside when tasking. If you'd like to engrave a personal message inside the lid, please enter it in the personalization field. Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or special instructions.
Dimensions: 2.25" wide x 1.13" tall (inner dimensions: 1.33" wide x .75" deep).
This box is a one-of-a-kind item that I crafted by hand from my own hand-drawn pattern and a little help from my laser. It's the third of three patterns, and the first to make its way to market (the first is staying home with me; the second I gifted to my mom). I'm working on a limited, numbered run of each, and I have more patterns in mind to draw, so it will eventually not be one-of-a-kind—but it will always be the first to make its way into the world.
Something you should know: I'm very careful about the products I use to stain and seal the wooden things I make. To me, black walnut is one of the most beautiful woods available, but keeping it gorgeous can be a challenge without chemical help. This box was treated with hemp oil (no CBD), and that's all. That means the natural look and feel (and aroma!) of the wood remains available for you to enjoy. It also means you may have to reapply the hemp oil someday. If your box ever starts to look dry, just dab a little on, rub it in, let it sit for 30 minutes or so, then wipe off any excess and let it cure. Repeat if needed. You'll have a beautifully refreshed, totally non-toxic box again. (Cutting board oil will work, too. Just stay away from mineral oil because it never completely dries.) Note: The item pictured is the exact item you'll get. Rings are shown for scale only, and are not included.
If you have questions or comments before or after purchasing, please don't hesitate to ask.

Meet the Maker
Hello, and welcome to my shop! I hope you find something here to love.
I'm Roxanne, and I've only just started on my journey as a maker. For the past five years, I've been immersed in real estate marketing and copywriting, helping some of the country's best agents and brokers reach their target clients and sell beautiful homes.
Today, my goals are different. The challenge of solving problems drives me, and I've always wanted to learn woodworking, so it seemed a natural evolution to combine the two. From that marriage sprang some helpful tools: a handy reminder not to overfeed my pudgy cats, a pill reminder that tells folks what time they took their last dose, and a lovely art deco door hanger that lets the whole household know when their baby or day-sleeper is resting...and the ideas keep flowing!
Now I focus full-time on doing this thing that brings me abundant joy. And because joy doesn't pay the mortgage, I offer the things I make to others who may find my creations unique, useful, and sometimes maybe even beautiful.
I'm glad you're here, and I hope something I've made will add a little joy to your world, too!
How it’s Made
Using my own hand-drawn design, I laser cut each layer of this ring box from a small sheet of solid 1/4" black walnut. Hand sanded until soft and smooth to the touch, the box is rubbed with food-grade CBD-free hemp oil, a natural, non-toxic "drying" oil that brings out the natural beauty of the wood without chemicals.
Shop Policies
I make or personalize every item in my shop myself.
Most of my own designs are made from wood. Given the nature of wood products, grain and tone will vary, and grain patterns may show through finished paint or stain coats.
Painted items may also have visible brush strokes. I spray paint whenever possible, but smaller details often need to be painted by hand, which sometimes leaves brush marks.
Stained and/or sealed items may have an obvious odor. I do try to source low-VOC products and air out stained and/or sealed items for a day or so before shipping, but some higher-VOC products are simply better suited for different needs, and those odors can remain for some time.
If you have questions or concerns about a material I might use on an item you’d like to buy, please don’t hesitate to ask me about it! I’ll be happy to explain exactly what will go into making your item, and explore alternatives if you have an allergy or aversion to a specific product.
PRODUCTION & SHIPPING
Please allow a minimum of 3-5 days for production. I make most items—especially custom items—as they’re ordered, so I’ll need time to bring your item(s) to life. I package my creations using as little packing material as is reasonable to carry them to their new homes in pristine condition. I use recyclable or compostable packaging whenever possible; HOWEVER, I’m not a fan of single-use materials, so I will first re-use any packing material I receive with my supply orders before dipping into recyclable materials. If, like me, you don’t like to throw away something that may have other uses, I urge you to donate plastic, foam and cardboard packing materials to your local moving company or women's shelter. I promise, someone will be thrilled to have the extra moving supplies!
RETURNS AND CANCELLATIONS
If your item includes a personalization or customization of any kind, it is not returnable unless it arrives damaged or defective (proof required). In the event of damage or defect, buyer will receive an identical replacement item in lieu of a refund.
For all other (non-custom) undamaged items, I will accept returns, provided they are delivered to me in exactly the same condition I sent them out. The buyer will cover any and all costs related to shipping the item(s) back to me, and the refund will be processed upon receipt of the intact, undamaged return.
DIGITAL DOWNLOADS
Digital download files (SVG, PDF, JPG, etc.) are not physical items! These files need to be downloaded to a computer where you will process them on your own equipment. Because there are no physical items in a digital download, returns will not be accepted. If there is a problem with your file, please let me know and I will help you correct it.
You may use my digital files to produce unlimited physical items for resale in your small maker business; however, you may not share or resell files that you purchase from me, including creating an altered version of the file to resell or pass along to a friend to bypass their need to purchase. You may not for any reason claim my designs as your own. You do not need to credit me when selling or advertising physical products made from my designs.
*ALL DIGITAL DOWNLOAD SALES ARE FINAL*
COLORS
Please keep in mind that natural wood products can (and do!) vary in color and tone. If you order multiple quantities of the same item, they will not all look identical.
Every computer monitor renders colors slightly differently, which means that what you see on your screen may not exactly match your item in real life. If you need an exact paint or stain match, please contact me before ordering to find out the exact color name, brand, sheen, and dye lot I will use to create your item. You can take this information to your local paint store to get a sample.
TERMS OF USE
When you purchase a physical item from me, it is with the understanding that you will personally use it in your home, vehicle or office, or give it as a gift to someone who will do the same. Please do not copy and/or mass-produce my items to sell for a profit.
If you have questions, comments, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you for shopping at Creekside Craftwork!
